What Are The 5 Types in Human Design

Erin Claire Jones

3 minute read

Our type in human design reveals how we can best use our energy — in our work, romantic relationships, families, teams, friendships and more. Today, I wanted to share a little bit about each type, including what percentage of the population each type is, their role, their gifts, and their strategy. There is so much more to say about each type, but this is a good place to start to understand the basics.

Remember: any type can be or do anything, your type just sheds light on how you can do it best.

Projectors

Percentage of population: About 22%

Their role: Advisors, guides, leaders, visionaries

Their gifts: Seeing into people and making them feeling known, asking the right questions, being innately sensitive to and wise about people, offering a new way of seeing and doing things, and showing the world a new way of success.

Their strategy: Wait to be invited before sharing their gifts. Before they’re invited, it’s a perfect time to master their craft, recognize their value and make themselves and their work visible, even when it’s scary.

Generators

Percentage of population: About 36%

Their role: Creators, builders, doers

Their gifts: Bringing creative energy and power to anything they’re lit up by, bringing ideas powerfully to life, uplifting and brightening the world around them, and being masterful, steadfast and committed.

Their strategy: Wait for something to spark a gut response before they go after it. Prioritizing their joy and excitement each day will magnetize the most aligned opportunities and people their way.

Manifestors

Percentage of population: About 9%

Their role: Innovators, disruptors, initiators

Their gifts: Transforming and disrupting anything they’re part of, bringing new ideas, movements and ways of doing things into the world, walking a path that hasn’t been walked before, seeing the future and where things are going before others do, and being bold.

Their strategy: Initiate and take action on the urges they feel and keep the people around them in the loop. Keeping others in the loop may feel unnatural, but it’s meant to create more ease and flow in their relationships and life.

Manifesting Generators

Percentage of population: About 32%

Their role: Multi-passionate doers, creative forces

Their gifts: Bringing ideas to life quickly when they are lit up by them, finding the fastest way to make something happen, moving in between different projects and passions, uplifting and expanding everyone around them with their charisma and power, and reinventing themselves again and again.

Their strategy: Wait for something to spark a gut response before they go after it. Prioritizing their joy and excitement each day will magnetize the most aligned opportunities and people their way.

Reflectors

Percentage of population: About 1%

Their role: Evaluators, observers, seers

Their gifts: Seeing and sensing what others miss, being deeply attuned to the people and spaces around them, seeing how things can be improved, expressing themselves in a multitude of ways, and offering powerful wisdom and objectivity.

Their strategy: Wait to be invited and initiated. While they wait, being in the right space aligns them with the right people, opportunities and experiences.
