Your authority (sometimes called your inner authority) in human design sheds light on how you are uniquely wired to make decisions. Authority is arguably one of the most essential pieces of our design, as we are all making decisions every day. It’s a piece of our design that we can integrate into our daily lives immediately.
Understanding how we’re each uniquely wired to make decisions, and how those close to us are meant to make decisions, can be so powerful, supportive and transformative. Today, I wanted to share an affirmation for each authority.
The 7 Authorities
- Wait for clarity authority (traditionally called emotional authority)
- Trust your gut authority (traditionally called sacral authority)
- Tune into your intuition authority (traditionally called splenic authority)
- Talk it out authority (traditionally called self-projected authority)
- Tune into your willpower authority (traditionally called ego authority)
- Be in the right space and talk it out authority (traditionally called environmental authority)
- Wait a lunar cycle authority (this applies to Reflectors only)
Wait for clarity
Time is medicine for me. I take my time to feel into and sleep on decisions, trusting the right decisions for me are the ones that feel good over time, not just in the moment. When my excitement is still alive a day or two later, I know the decision is right for me. I wait for a clear, calm and deep knowing to arise within me before I move forward. I trust the right opportunities for me will not disappear when I wait. Clarity for me comes with time.
Trust your gut
My gut feeling is my most trustworthy guide. It is always pointing me in the right direction. The right decisions for me are the ones that simply feel right in my gut, the ones I can’t explain. If I feel an expansive yes and a rising of energy in my belly, I say yes and move towards that opportunity or person. If it’s anything but that, I trust it’s a no or not yet. I trust my gut, even in the moments I try to talk myself out of what my body knows to be true. Clarity for me can always be found in my gut feeling.
Tune into your intuition
I rely on my powerful, clear, and quiet intuition to guide me. As soon as I receive an intuitive hit – whether it’s a whisper I hear or a sense I feel – I honor it and move into action. I regularly take space and time alone to quiet down and connect to the instinctive knowing within me. I am courageous and act as soon as my intuition comes, even when I don’t yet know where it’s taking me. Clarity for me comes in the moment through the quiet whisper of my intuition. I choose to trust it.
Talk it out
I trust my inner knowing emerges when I give it a voice. I talk decisions out with people I trust to find clarity, not to seek advice from others, but to connect the knowing that comes through my own voice when I say something aloud. I even sometimes talk to myself or journal to connect to my own inner knowing. The right decisions for me are the ones that make me happy, the ones that make me feel like me and the ones that allow me to feel authentically, fully and creatively expressed.
Tune into your willpower
I trust my heart to pull me towards the right opportunities and people. The right decisions for me are the ones I feel motivated to make happen, the ones I desire and the ones that make me feel valued. My energy is precious. For something to feel right for me, I must feel my power is appreciated and my energy fully taken care of. When my heart is in it and I feel taken care of, I can make anything happen and will bring such heart to what I do.
Be in the right space and talk it out
To make the right decisions for me, I plant myself in spaces that feel good and talk decisions out with people I trust. I talk things out not to seek advice from others, but to connect to the clear knowing that comes through my voice when I say things aloud. I honor my innate sensitivity by spending time in spaces and around people that feel good, trusting talking things out in the right spaces with the right people will always bring me the clarity I need.
Wait a lunar cycle
To make the right decisions for me, I take my time to feel into decisions for as long as I need, often a month or more. While I wait for clarity, I spend time in spaces that feel good with people that uplift me and I talk things out. Even when I can’t wait a full month, I choose to move at my own pace as I make decisions, taking my time and making decisions from a place of clarity and knowing within me, never from an outside pressure or urgency.
