It’s so important to remember how complex and multi-faceted our designs can be. I remember once seeing someone share that Projectors aren’t meant to exercise daily. And while part of me resonated with not overdoing it as a Projector, I also felt that generalization didn’t capture the whole picture of my design. There is so much more to our design beyond type that can shed light on how we can be exercise and move our bodies.
So today, I want to share a few notes on movement and exercise based on types, centers, and variables (these are the four arrows in our design).
Generators and Manifesting Generators…
You may find movement helps you expend your powerful energy during the day and sleep soundly at night. Invest your energy in workouts you feel drawn to. And if you’re feeling restless at night, try ramping your workouts up a notch.
Manifesting Generators…
You may find you don’t always desire to work out and move in the same way. Give yourself permission to shake it up and try something new when you’re inspired rather than feeling like you need to stick with what you’ve done in the past.
Projectors and Reflectors…
Moving is a powerful way to release the energy that’s not yours. Yet it’s important to not overdo your workouts or push yourself beyond your capacity. Explore more gentle ways of moving your body like hiking or yoga. Stop before you’re tired and totally spent.
Manifestors…
You may at times love high intensity workouts and other times, you just need to slow down and chill. Honor where you are, even when it changes.
If your bottom left arrow is facing left…
You may find it supportive to move every day with some consistency. Some days, it may be intense. Other days, it may be gentle. What is most important is bringing some consistency and routine to how you move.
If your bottom left arrow is racing right…
You may find it supportive to not apply excessive rigidity or structure to your workouts. It may feel good to move more in the flow when you’re inspired.
If you have a defined sacral center…
The right form of exercise can give you energy and power you up with fire and excitement to bring to your day.
If you have a defined root center…
In moments where you’re feeling stressed, it’s often a perfect time to move your body and sweat it out. Your stress deeply impacts the world around you and movement helps the stress move through and out of you.
If you have a defined ego center…
You may love moving your body in short, powerful bursts when your heart is in it rather than long, extended workouts.
If you have an undefined or open identity center…
You may find you love moving your body in spaces you enjoy being in. Pay attention to the quality of your space when you’re moving your body (and always.)
